From small bites to drinks or desserts, I’ve got everything covered for your 4th of July recipes! You can still celebrate with friends and family while eating delicious food that is free from lots of gluten or sugar!

Bites

Mango Salsa

This salsa is great for an outdoor bbq as it is refreshing, tangy and goes great with anything! I usually pair it with chicken but it goes well with some tortilla chips as a starter.

Guac Board

You can’t go wrong with some guac for an outdoor celebration especially in an aesthetically pleasing presentation! The setup really wows the crowd and takes minimal effort! Think of it like a cheese board, but better!

Drinks

Summer Sangria

This drink is such a perfect combo of sweet, acidity and alcohol. It’s a gorgeous drink and super easy to put together! Perfect for an outdoor 4th of July cookout!

Frozen Watermelon Mojito Slushies

The last time I made my Frozen Watermelon Mojito the crowd went a little wild. The combination of watermelon and mint screams a bit of a party, doesn’t it? With natural sugars from the watermelon and a refreshing contrast of lime and mint, this one’s definitely a winner.

Food

Salmon and Spinach Burgers

Create a healthy classic twist on the American burger by swapping the beef for salmon! This oily fish is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids which are considered essential for the body. Plus, salmon is a great source of protein and marries well with a variety of flavors. This recipe was created by accident — how many great dishes are invented! I was looking for a use for day-old grilled salmon and whipped up these veggie-infused, super moist burgers in a pinch. Ever since, they have become staples in our kitchen and are a great option for Independence Day!

Chip Chicken Burger

Thinking of doing some fried chicken for the 4th of July? Make this better-for-you and satisfying dish instead. With only five ingredients and about five minutes of prep time, this potato-chip crusted chicken will become your new favorite gluten-free splurge meal! The chips offer a nice savory crunch that replaces the fried chicken coating yet still allows you freedom from guilt.

Beef Lettuce Cups

These bad boys are great for protein and getting in nutrition, texture and flavor. Pair it with your favorite dressing to take these beef cups to the next level! Yum!

Desserts

Yogurt Parfait Pops

Think yogurt parfait, but a whole lot better! Created with love using dairy-free yogurt, fruit, seeds and granola, these on-the-go frozen parfait pops are wonderful during a July 4th celebration for the kids (of all ages) to snack on while running around the yard. Make them extra festive by using American flag-colored fruits like strawberries, raspberries or blueberries! Plus, you can make them a few days before and save some time!

Mixed Berry Slab Pie Recipe

Nothing gets more American than some sweet pie on the Fourth of July! Take it a step further by cutting out stars as the crust to get extra festive! It’ll really wow your guests for your Independence Day celebration!

Apple, Maple, Blueberry Crisp

It’s a remix on the apple pie, a crisp! If you’re looking to switch things up for the American holiday, try making a great crisp that’s easier to make and healthier with a fine layer of of rich and fruity goodness! Serve this with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream! You’ll be sure to see fireworks with this recipe!
