Seared tuna with sesame

Sesame Crusted Tuna Salad

This seared dish offers an upscale tuna salad that looks elegant but takes only a few minutes to sear and set the tuna, no muss no fuss! The dressing has a kick with the combination of cilantro, jalapeno, lime juice and soy sauce which pairs really well with the tuna. Additionally, the sesame seeds add a nice fancy crunch to the meal. Seared tuna is always a bonus at restaurants but learning to master it in the comfort of your own home is a plus! This salad recipe is so light and refreshing, its the perfect summertime lunch, an impressive appetizer, a great BBQ accompaniment and a nice impressive touch to serve to your guests!

If you’re on the hunt for sushi-grade Ahi Tuna but have never purchased it before, stop at your nearest quality fish market or grocery store- they’ll be happy to help you! I always examine it visually and smell it to make sure it’s fresh! Make sure it smells like you’re near an ocean yet not with an overpowering fishy smell.

Feel free to make a large batch of the dressing, pour into bottles and use on other salads throughout the week! If you can’t get enough of the seared tuna salad, try my Homemade Ahi Tuna Bowl or even take it a step further with a Spicy Tuna Roll!
