Embrace Summer with Homemade Peach Sorbet

Nothing screams summer more than a simple frozen dessert using farm-fresh peaches! A refreshing peach sorbet is the perfect way to capture the essence of the season. If you’re looking for the quickest route to this delightful treat, grabbing a frozen bag of peaches will do the trick. But if you’re feeling adventurous and have some ripe peaches on hand, go ahead and use those for an even fresher taste!

Fun fact: I once did a commercial for the Ninja CREAMi—it’s the most amazing ice cream machine, and this recipe would be incredible using the CREAMi too!

Here’s a peek into one of the videos I did for them! Check it out and get inspired to whip up your own batch of peach sorbet. Enjoy the sweet, fruity flavor of summer in every bite!

Peach Sorbet

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • 6 cups frozen sliced peaches (about 1 ¼ lb)
  • 1 tsp grated lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare simple syrup: Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat, and let cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.

  2. Blend the ingredients and freeze: Transfer simple syrup to a blender. Add frozen peaches and lemon zest and juice.

  3. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Transfer to a shallow container or an 8- x 4-inch loaf pan.

  4. Cover and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.

  5. Let stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. Sorbet may be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 weeks.
