Tom Cronin is on a mission to inspire one billion people world wide to sit in stillness daily. At the MAYYA+Movement, we’re in.
Which may come as a surprise to those who know me. As a mom of four and a business owner, I don’t have the luxury of sitting still very often. If I wore a fitness tracker I think it would explode with all the numbers.
But I’ve learned the hard way that movement has to be balanced with stillness, or our systems go kaput. Pushed too far, we can completely burn out, and the road to recovery is a long one.
I am drawn to Tom and his mission, as I’m sure you will be too. A high-flying finance executive for 26 years, Tom turned to meditation to help manage the symptoms of stress and exhaustion. Taken by the impact of simply sitting still, he walked away from his career to embark on his mission of spreading calm and stillness across the globe through The Stillness Project.
I find Tom has a knack for teaching people how to meditate in a way that is approachable and achievable—after all, he was once like the rest of us, too.
By having Tom on our expert panel, it is my aim to get the MAYYA community sitting still, more often (or maybe Tom will teach us some good walking meditation tips?) Either way, I’m excited to get out of my head and into my heart on a daily basis. Join me and the team in being part of Tom’s one billion person goal.
