Orange-Spiked Aperol Spritz served with blood orange slices and frozen orange juice cubes in a wine glass

Orange-Spiked Aperol Spritz

If you’re hosting this weekend or planning a laid-back get-together, this Orange-Spiked Aperol Spritz is the perfect signature cocktail. It’s light, flavorful, and guaranteed to impress without any fuss. Once you try this twist on the classic, it’ll be your go-to all summer long. Orange-Spiked Aperol Spritz is pure sunshine in a glass!

It’s bright, bubbly, and bursting with fresh citrus flavor. It’s the kind of drink that instantly sets the mood: easygoing, refreshing, and just a little bit elevated. Whether you’re sipping it on a sunny patio, serving it at brunch with friends, or clinking glasses at golden hour, this spritz brings the sparkle.

What makes it special? I swap out regular ice cubes for frozen orange juice cubes. They slowly melt into your drink, boosting that sweet citrus flavor without ever watering it down. Then I pour in a splash of Cointreau for a bold orange twist, top it off with crisp Prosecco, and finish with a splash of soda water to keep it light and fizzy.

Of course, we make it pretty – because it should look as good as it tastes. A few slices of blood orange add a gorgeous pop of color and a slightly deeper citrus note. If you don’t have blood oranges, any fresh orange will do the trick.

It’s effortless, stunning, and surprisingly flexible.

🥂 Serving Ideas

  • Serve your Orange-Spiked Aperol Spritz in large wine glasses with sugared rims for a chic presentation.

  • Pair it with light bites like marinated olives, grilled shrimp skewers, or crostini.

  • Make a non-alcoholic version with sparkling water, frozen orange cubes, and a dash of orange bitters – it’s just as refreshing.

  • Hosting a summer brunch? Line up a tray of frozen orange cubes and let guests build their own spritzes.

  • For a holiday twist, swap blood oranges for pomegranate seeds or fresh cranberries in winter months.

Flexible Tip: Freeze a tray of orange juice cubes at the beginning of the week so you’re always ready to throw together a spritz when the moment calls for it. You’ll thank yourself later.

Orange Spiked Aperol Spritz

Ingredients

  • Frozen Orange Juice Cubes (pour OJ into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight)
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 3 oz Prosecco
  • soda Water
  • Blood Orange Slices for that gorgeous garnish

Instructions

  1. Pop your wine glasses into the freezer for a few minutes to get them nice and chilled - that way your spritz stays cool without too much ice watering it down.

  2. Next, drop a few orange cubes into each glass. They add that sweet, juicy flavor without too much ice watering your drink down

  3. Add the Citrus Kick: Pour in 1 oz of Cointreau. This adds depth and a grown-up orange twist.

  4. Top with Bubbles: Add 3 oz of Prosecco for that crisp, bubbly lift. Then pour in a splash of soda water to lighten things up and add just the right amount of fizz.

  5. Garnish & Serve: Slide a few fresh blood orange slices (or regular orange) into the glass. They make the drink look beautiful and infuse it with even more citrus aroma as you sip.

  6. Sip, Smile, Repeat: Stir gently if you like, then sit back and enjoy your Orange-Spiked Aperol Spritz - aka, summer in a glass.
