Growing up, nothing tasted like after-school fun as much as ice pops. In the summer, it was a race against the sun: could you lick them fast enough or would the sunshine melt away the sweet goo?

These dairy-free frozen banana pops are the perfect after school treat for kids (and adults too!). The recipe is a great way to use up over-ripe bananas and create a sneaky protein-rich snack. Use this recipe as a template and unleash your creativity by adding your favorite healthy boosters: try a green powder mix like Nuzest’s Good Green Stuff or add some chocolate chips or berries.

Frozen Banana Pops

Prep Time 20 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas mashed
  • Handful of walnuts or pecans crushed
  • A scoop of sprouted brown rice protein powder
  • Maple syrup to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Vanilla extract a touch

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients, adjusting quantities for taste and consistency -- should be thick but still goopy.
  2. Spoon into ice cube trays.
  3. Cover ice cube trays and freeze.

Recipe Notes

Optional additions:
Handful of raw cacao nibs, carob chips, or dark chocolate chips
Handful of Goji berries
A scoop of green powder, to taste
