Food Swaps to Healthify Your Favorite Foods

Seth and I were more than 12,000 miles apart when we celebrated 24 years of marriage in January!

I was at KTLA‘s studios in Los Angeles to talk about how to make healthier food choices without feeling deprived. This was timely because “Quitter’s Day” comes around just a couple of weeks into January. I hadn’t even heard of it (although there seems to be a day for just about everything!). But apparently Quitter’s Day is the day that, on average, most people ditch their New Year’s resolutions. Yes, most resolutions last approximately three weeks!

So while “eat better” is often a big motivational factor at the beginning of the year, I wanted to share how to stick to a healthy eating mindset all year round with my flexible flips. And if you have my cookbook, Food You Want for the Life You Crave, you’ll know that I love to tweak and healthify traditional recipes in this way.
Flexible flips and tips are little nudges to encourage you to unleash your creativity and adapt each recipe to suit your preferences.
In this TV segment I share these flexible flips:
  • Healthify regular muffins when baking at home (click here for loads more ideas)
  • Enjoy a delicious, real burger… minus the simple carb calories
  • Tweak salads to serve up healthier options to keep you fuller for longer
  • Experiment with alternatives to the traditional potato chip
  • Serve up almond butter cups at home (my youngest, Liam, is a particular fan of these!)
And, of course, if you need more inspiration, buy my cookbook here and share your creations with me over on Instagram.
