These baked apple chips are a simple, crispy snack with easy options for added flavors like cinnamon or apple pie spice for a tasty twist.
Core the Apples (Optional): If you’d like apple rings, use an apple corer to remove the core from each apple. For standard apple chips, you can skip this step.
Slice the Apples: Using a mandoline, slice the apples into thin rounds about ⅛-inch thick, making sure to cut perpendicular to the core. This will result in slices with a hole in the center, creating apple rings.
Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the apple slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
First Bake: Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 225°F (107°C) and bake for 90 minutes.
Flip the Slices: Take the baking sheet out of the oven and carefully flip each apple slice. Return the sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
Cool and Crisp: Crack the oven and allow the chips to cool for 1 hour. If you want them extra crispy extend the time for 1.5-2 hours.
